14 days for 14 changes

I'm cheating by two days on this but I know I won't have time then so I'm writing as if it is Tuesday morning..

Here is a summary of what I've experienced in one year in a country far from anything I've ever known.

14. Life is unpredictable, unaccommodating, and messy. Learn to dodge the bullets and jump into the deep end because living with reservations is boring as hell. Don't spend life wading in shallow waters.

13. Happiness has to be a choice sometimes.

12. Complaining is pointless.

11. I can accomplish a lot more than I believed I could.

10. It's okay to admit life is hard (Because it is.)

9. Everyday is a chance to make yourself a better person.

8. People are significant exactly where they are at, not after they clean up their lives. Even in the worst circumstances, people still have worth.

7. I will NEVER have all the answers.

6. I was a youth director in Vietnam at twenty years old... It still is hard to believe that I was able to pull that off.

5. Family should matter.

4. I can handle hard things. Not only that but I can handle hard things without having people to lean on.

3. Dating isn't the most important in life.

2. Time is short and extremely important. I want to ALWAYS value my time and others.

1. Lastly, I've learned that home is the wherever you make it. Yes, my family and friends have been on the other side of the world for many months but my apartment on the 24th floor has become my home.
